ANNA MARIA ISLAND
The surrounding water area around Anna Maria Island is a small boat anglers' playground where you will find Snook as well as Red Fish. If offshore deep sea fishing is your goal you will find Barracuda, Grouper, King Mackerel, Snapper, Cobia, Porgies, Sharks, Trigger Fish, Spanish Mackerel just to name a few!
BRADENTON/PALMETTO
Pristine and fish filled waters on the grassy flats of Bradenton's Manatee River. Capt. Steve will take you through an endless back country of mangrove shoreline where you will find Redfish, Snook and Spotted Sea Trout. Battle tarpon off the beaches or troll for Kingfish out in the Bay. Tarpon fishing in Florida attracts sports anglers from around the Globe. Prime Monster Tarpon fishing in Bradenton begins in May and continues through the end of July. In Boca Grande, the season begins in April through June. Tarpon fishing in either place is usually productive until mid October.
The BEST time for MONSTER TARPON hits is during June and July's CRAB CHEWS. Crab chew is a natural phenomenon that occurs every year in Boca Grande pass and Bradenton's Gulf. It only happens on a hill tide (4 days before and after) during full moon phases. The Crab Chew occurs on the out going tide. Pass and Blue Crabs are drawn to the top of the water and then swept out through the Bay. Thousands of crabs funnel through the passes and that sparks FEEDING FRENZIES among hungry Tarpons. It is not uncommon catch 10 to 15 Tarpon during a Crab Chew.
SARASOTA
The lush grass flats in Sarasota Bay are loaded with Redfish, Flounder, Snapper,Sharks, Porgys, Sea Bass and Grouper. The popular snook begins to wake up from winter in March and is happiest when water temps push past 75 degrees. April will start showing signs of mackerel and kingfish.
